03 LQ9 Knock sensor output?
#1
I am thinking of wiring up one of the LEDs I already have in 3 pillar to the knock sensors. I know I will need to get the voltage right to the LED with some resistors, but the first step is finding out the voltage range from the knock sensors for an 03 LQ9.
Anyone help out with this?

You'll need a custom setup to do this. The knock sensors put out a varied signal depending on the severity of the knock it detects. I don't think you'd be able to just throw a 3volt LED in the sensor.
You best bet is to hard wire an OBD2 connection a palm handheld and mount it somewhere. Set alarms for different readings. Then you could always have a visual display for timing, IATs, and knock.

What I was thinking of doing is adding a pullup circuit and some resistance on the LED line -- so that the light would begin to burn once the 3* KR voltage was passed and burning brightly at max KR. But... that probably won't light enough at 3* to be useful.
Hmm... Maybe I can do a switch gate... LOL those premade KR lights are sounding better and better.
