Default $300 lq4 rebuild & swap

Got this motor at my machine shop the guy said it was running fine but had a nice tick to it warranty replaced it year unknown. Got it striped down everything looks fine but im not taking any chances it's goin back where I bought it from for a hot bath, bearings/rings. Plans are a Vinci trucker high lift cam, gonna use the 317s with some work, and all the other necessary ****, never got intake or TB so gonna use my 5.3. I'm worried now about the sensors where the engine was out doors for a while, and the 60e will it handle the power on a bit of a budget here so any opinions and advice will be great, by the way this is my first v-8 project mostly worked on 2-strokes before

I purchased a low lift trucker off of our classifieds, and now in getting impatient lol so Im thinking about putting the cam in my 5.3 with stock converter while I collect some more funds for the 6.0 build. Roger speced this cam for the 6.0 is it to big for my CCSB Z71

It's not too big for a 5.3, and a TON of people run it in that same engine. It will be a dog off the line with a stock converter though, especially in a truck that heavy. Are you gonna run a converter with this cam in the 6.0? If so why not pop it in there now??

P.S. this cam loves boost

That converter would certainly help.

Are you planning an 80e swap?
