So far 4 years going on a YANK vert, about 6XX hp plus. and has been flawless.. Lots of good vert people, all of the ones mentioned seem to have a really well track record. So roll them dice Not getting hurt with any

Yank py3400 here in the 2003 4x4 been 1.38 60' with 900 to 1000+ HP and not one prob in 5 yrs. Yank py3000 in my NA Big block lifted 1970k20 been 1.49 60' NA @4750lbs. I've ran tons of converters over the years and these have been the best quality and most consistant. I've sold over 60 yanks and never had one problem. Only complaint ever is that they run tight when people go against my recommendation.

Has anyone really pushed a 60E to see what they can and cannot take?? I see most guys nowadays jump straight to getting a 80E but from my experiance a built 60E will take more than people think. I went 11.1@121, 7 or 8yrs ago on a built 60E with 3800 Vig back before anyone started really running the 80E's AND went many low 12 sec passes with a STOCK 60E with only a vette servo, shift kit and 3200 Vig. Just wondering if i should build my 60E or try to find a 80E and if anyone has any real experiance with breaking a built 60E???

I have pushed a built 65e pretty hard behind 6000lb, but tired of driving on pins and needles expecting a break so doing the swap. I am going with another PI converter on the 80.

It sounds like some people have this and others dont. It has been in 2 transmission and freshened up by PI once, so I think it is normal.

It just cost soo much to get a top of the line 60E and even then good luck at it lasting.
Prolly be ok if its tuned perfect, but i still dont trust them

junkyard 80e, shift kit, new filter/fluid and roll on
i didnt trust the 60e's caused i towed alot and sure didnt have good luck at 3/4 clutch packs holding up with the low end TQ the turbo was giving.

Junkyard 80E has lasted longer than all the built 60E's ive had added together.

My last "built" 60E died quietly on the interstate @ 70MPH with the cruise control on, going up a hill. No matter how good it's built, when it's got to haul a 6000lb truck around all day continuously, a 60E will fail eventually.

I have never broken hard parts in any of my built 60E transmissions, the clutches just give up the ghost under sustained load.
