Sounds like your trans is on the way out. Are you getting any codes? Feel free to give us a call next week to discuss your situation. And just a heads up we are running a free shipping special. Vince

I'd just buy a stage 5 60E from FLT.

Stock 80E is definitely stronger than a 60E in the same form. As for the difference b/t a built 60E vs a built 80E, I'm not sure you need that much trans. PT has two sponsors that build strong units. I (personally) know of a few FLT L5 units that have withstood a BUTTLOAD of punishment, and are still going strong.

If you're experiencing slippage from 3rd to 4th, then there's a good chance you're not seeing 2nd (I don't remember what you described). With that, you're looking more towards 2-4 band wear. The reverse input drum may also have slight grooves (will cause a new band to wear irregularly). I ""would" say clutch packs, but you still have 3rd. Call up Vince @ FLT, or maybe Performabuilt. They can help you diagnose a bit further. If you call Vince (or Chuck) at FLT, you'll get great customer service (trust me, I know).

^^ not that I don't like Performabuilt... just my personal experience.
