do you have a blow gun? if so, spray some brake cleaner in there and blow it out.

if not, all you can do is maybe wiggle the transfer case and see if it gets any easier.

if that dont work, grab the impact

man, i wish you were closer. id love to lend ya a hand.

There is nothing in there that I can see and the mount looks like its lining up perfectly but the bolt starts to tilt to the passenger side but I cant make it go straight.

Overall though, I just gave it a quick test drive around the block and everything seems to be fine. Forward, reverse, and 4wd all seem to work fine. No funny sounds, smells, or noises coming from anywhere, and no leaking fluid. Although I think I might have overfilled the trans, is there an easy way to get some out besides dropping the pan....hmmm....makes me want to disconnect the trans cooler actually....

I replaced the rearujoint but I am still going to get a better driveshaft since I dont really feel comfortable with this one (it was on the upgrade list anyway). I plan to keep it slow until I get my new one.

Heres a better pic of the original failure,

The output shaft of the trans wasnt too bad. I cleaned it up and the tcase slid right on.

The breather hose ive been talking about is at the top of the pic.

I seem to remember it always being disconnected....

im glad to see everythings ok.
you can disconnect a tranny line, and run it for about 5-10 seconds to get some fliud out. thats what i did.

another question, your rear end yoke, does it not have stops on each end, that prevent the caps from coming lose anyways?

The 1350 part of the pinion yoke on the diff has outside tabs, but the caps on the 1330 part of the driveshaft has outside clips, which is what failed.

What kind of fluid should I use for the transfer case? I lost a lot during assembly and stuff. Ive heard ATF is ok, but....?
