Question Will 99 gears fit in a 91 rear end?

I have a shot at a set of 4:10 gears with an eaton unit with all of the bearings and gaskets new in the box for $400.00. I want to buy them but I dont know if the gears from a 99 are interchangeable with an OBS. Guy bought them to tow with and sold the truck before the install.

The gears will fit if they are 8.5/8.6... The locker will probably not work b/c I think the splines are a diffrent size between the 2...

Gears are the same, both should be 30 spline(I think they went from 28-30 spline around 1988), but the carrier bearings are different. I put a gov loc out of a 99 model in my 95 truck and had to find bearings. Go to a "good" parts store and look through the bearing dimension book. They make a bearing that has the same I/D as the 99 carrier and same O/D has the 91 housing but you won't find them doing a standard look up. You must find them by dimensions. O'Reilly had them in stock, don't have the # though
