If I had a 6.0 or a built 400+ cube Id run a 3600, on the lil motors I like the 4000 verter. BUT I dont tow, dont do a ton of city stop and go, so loose doesn't bother me. If you don't want a loose converter, sell that one and hit chris up.

NO matter what, I'd call Chris. It's a phone call, & he knows how to build em, including yours. You know what you're gettin w/. Chris. More power = higher stall given same vehicle. Lighter car hits harder given same stall speed as heavier trucks. I think I said that right.

They will hit the same actually, as the str isn't changing, but the additional weight will take more rpms to accelerate.

Maybe I worded that wrong. Scratch the word hit. Take a 5.3, say it stalls @ "x". Take same 5.3, add a turbo or blower, now it stalls higher. Yes or no?
Additional weight takes more effort to move in general, how can it not? That's why a 3100# Vette can out accelerate a 4700# truck. Throw out aero drag, gearing, etc. OK maybe a bad example cause u can find that as apples to oranges. Take your truck or whoever's, take out 500#, it'll accelerate faster. Light makes might. Or add 500#, it takes more effort.

I agree 100%, my ss4000 is an ss4000 behind a h/c f-body, behind my engine withthe weight of my truck it will footbrake 4000...flashes a bit higher than that. Thats why when I do a cam, I will go larger enough to move the torque band up some. I plenty of converter thats for sure.

To the OP, I think you'll be happy with a 3c, I just wanted every bit of performance I could get out of a converter with my 4.8.
