Is it still kicking?
2wd or 4wd?
If not, how long did it last?
Once it did bite the dust, who's trans did you go with and are you happy?
When your junkyard/ craigslist 80e bit the dust, did you send the converter back to get cut open and cleaned?
Any other info you'd like to share?

$600 Craiglist 60k mile 2wd 80E, Transgo HD2, Yank PT3600. Been in my truck for about 5 years, but only a couple thousand miles on it, Lol. Motor is a 5.3, a Triple 12 cam, and 76mm on 15lbs.

The last truck I built is a lifted Suburban 2500 with a cammed 6.0 and TVS 1900 blower. I pulled the 200k mile 80E out of it and did the internal dual feed, sonnax valve, and changed a bad bushing. So far that trans is holding up great!

Lxcoupe, your trans OK? I've made it 200 miles on mine if that helps.

Trans is mint, but to be honest I'm surprised (knocking on wood as we speak). I only dynoed 475 to the wheels at 9psi, but that was with ignition issues. I've since fixed those and have turned the controller up to 12psi and logs look good and the truck feels like absurdly quick for 4800lbs. Heading back to the dyno on Wednesday and hope to turn it up to 15psi, if my BAP can keep up. I've done about 20 4wd launches just to get a feel for things and the truck shifts really really good! I was merely curious if other guys had gotten their trucks running and had initial good luck with their stock 80's and then had trouble

And kudos to those 200 miles tgui! If there is anyone who deserves a good trans it is you.

Sending you a pm now!

I tuned one behind a Duramax that had around 50K miles and now has over 100K (150K total) behind a Duramax making close to 800 TQ.
