Got 138k out of my original before having it rebuilt. Frictions the only thing really wrong. Includes a lot of highway miles, some 5000lb towing cross country and through mountains, some good romping on a semi-regular basis. Went with a mild built trans and a Vig 2400.

My stock 4l60 is still working ok, but TM is the only thing holding it together. Without TM it slips a little on 1-2, and alot on 3-4.

I am collecting parts right now (torque drive input drum, 5 pinion planets, Zpak 3-4 clutch, transgo, etc.) hoping to install it all in 2 weeks.

I'm still on my original trans...I'm not making killer power or anything, but I also have 0% Torque Management (100% removed), and the line pressures are increased via tuning, so we'll see. No shift kit or servos...kinda thinkin that eventually it'll vomit on the highway, and I'll make the upgrades at that point (kinda out of necessity)...stall, shift kit, servos, pinless acummulators...whaterver

Oh yea, trucks's a 99 with 43k on the odo...usually drive it "normal", but from time to time(couple times a day), you gotta see what it can do. I plan on putting a stall in it eventually, just curious if I'm gonna get a chance to do the verter firt, or if the trans is gonna poop out and I'll just do ir then. Right now it's all up to the PermaCool 17,000 GVW trans cooler to try and buy me some time

judging from this you guys should check out some of the SS trucks. an awfull lot of very heavy trucks going fast on the same based trans and very few failures.

I'm not in a hurry to add any more power to my 5800 lb beast. I think much more than the 355HP/370TQ I already have to the rear wheels will accelerate the demise of my precious 4L65E. At this point if I want more power I think I will just go 4L80E with a 14 bolt rear, then I can get that Starr Performance package I've always wanted...
