Default When do you need a thermal bypass for a trans cooler?

Im going to get a Tru Cool 40k in preperation fro buying a Performabuilt trans here very soon. When do you need a thermal bypass for the cooler? I live in FL, so I really see "cold" weather. Im thinking I dont need one...

If your temps don't get and stay below 60* then don't worry about it. These past pouple of day here it's been in the lower 30* upper 20* and I just put cardboard in front of the cooler. It got into the middle 70*'s today and with the cardboad it only got to 150*. So I say no, IMO
