I cant complain about my Eaton LSD.. its been put thru some work and made it this far.

You cant go wrong with either tho..

The detroit locker is a serious one, not too fun on the street from what ive seen.. Its more like a spool.

I too like the Eaton LSD, but all of them have their place where they excel with some overlap in capabilities and you just need to decide what you’re really going to be using your vehicle for the most.
Its going to be a street truck, running on the street mostly but making frequent trips to the track and hopefully laying down some 10 sec time slips.

I have a detroit locker and love it! You just can't give it too much power around tight turns or it won't unlock.

And that is why it's not rebuildable. When it gets worn & noisy, it has to be replaced.

But the truth is, both are good units. Both are designed well. Both are proven to be strong.

Butttt

When it gets worn and noisy I will buy a new unit, I am sure that will be many years.. I bet the rebuild kit for the LSD is a pretty penny..

Bout $100 or so, and the clutch material in the diff fluid doesn't damage the diff bearings, so they can often be reused. When the truetrac wears out & gets noisy, the metal in the fluid pits the bearings & races.
