what tranny oil?

Default what tranny oil?

a buddy of mine bought a 76 cutless supreme today and the tranny pan is leaking, im going to replace the gasket tomorrow and was wondering what type of tranny fluid to use? also about how many quarts should i put back in there? is a th350 tranny

Good old Dextron III should do just fine. Not sure how much you will need it's been a while since I dropped a th350 pan, but I'm thinking around 4 quarts should about get it done.

I'll second that! Dextron III, ya could be 4 quarts, or 4 and a little i'd guess, last i remember was on a 400, and it was a little more, but a bit bigger to boot! Could he use a fresh filter at minimum since you got it open or was it done recently?
