Not to hijack the thread, how much stall would you take off if you use the truck for towing? That high stall speed while towing would make too much heat, right?

is it true with a higher stall you lose drivability(sp?) I have never drove a truck with a upgraded TC if i went with something in the 3600 range how would it feel when just driving normaly? I guess Im asking whats the pros and cons of a TC that high.

If you tow you probably should get a tt3000.

It will take a little more pedal to get it moving normally.

yep bout it, little more peddle to get up to speed. I haul heavy *** loads in my ecsb with a 3200stall no problems with heat at all.
Just run a larger cooler and you will be fine.
With a stall you will find if you give it normal stock stall peddle it will take forever to get up to speed and annoy the crap out of ya.
Give it a bit more peddle and it gets up to speed much faster and won't annoy you as much if any at all.
it's like takeing off at 1200-1400rpms stock stall vs about 2200 which is a differant feel but you get used to it fairly fast.
IMO a cam makes more of a driving change than a stall.

i just got off the phone with my tranny guy and i sent him my dyno sheet and he almost said the same as TouchofEvil04.

He told me id like it with a 3200 or so but would love it with a 3600 and he did say it would drive a bit different but that it would just take a few days to get famaliar with how the truck acts.

So it looks like ill possibly be in the market for a TC in the 3600 hundred range but if anyone else has any input dont be shy.

IMO go drive a truck w/ a 3000+ stall and go from there. 3600 is a pretty big jump from where your at now and will def take some getting used to. The 3600 might be ideal for your powerband, but far less than ideal for your gas mileage and driveability. I would stick w/ a tt3000, but thats just my 2 cents.....

here's my opinion:

3200 would be just fine for your application.

3600 would just be damn fun.
