Default what happened to my input drum?

This may be a really stupid question, but is this ruined, or can it be used?

The reverse/input drum is bad, it has hot spots and the band is crispy. the 3/4 clutch's are VERY burnt.

I'm no expert, but that's what they normally look like.

If you are referring to the large area that is shiny and looks like it has been machined... well, that's normal.

Is your transmission basically stock?

Thank you for the replies.

Gilbert, the tranny was stock, but I am rebuilding into a 4l65E. Beast shell, billet output, HD2 shift kit, sonnax servos etc.

I am in the final stages of getting all the parts. I havent been able to afford everything, so its been little by little. I enjoy doing the work myself and i am taking my sweet time to make sure it gets done right.

this tranny was a re-man. it lasted 4 months. everything in it is pretty much new.

Gotcha. Sounds like you have a plan... good for you!

Holler at me if you have questions along the way.

I appreciate it very much, thank you. I have basically compiled parts from recommendations on this site and other peoples' build lists. I have been bugging people for a while. I purchased both ATSG manuals and have a few videos to help. In another life, I was an ASE certified tech for Jaguar, but I left the industry to pursue the family business. I have the ability and the tools, its just new territory for me.
