Akebono Brake pads from Advance. SS braided lines at all four corners and a good bleed. Stay away from Wagner anti dust pads. I ruined a set of wheels with these pads! Pure junk! Akebono Lasted to about the 80,000 original miles mark. Whet to Wagner but after 5,000 miles I went back to Stock OEM which are the made in USA Akebono... My 2 cents.....

After coupons the Akebonos can be had for $63 at Advance Auto. I'm just wondering about their performance compared to my police semi-metallic pads or versus Hawk HPS.

^^^^^ Even better! Mine stops my heavy *** Crew on a dime. They are hands down the best and cleanest pads I have ever used!

For a anti dust pad, they were the dirtiest pad I've ever used... Complete with a lifetime warranty I took those suckers off after 5000 miles and went back to OEM. Mind you I drive a heavy crew with one foot on the brake and one on the gas at all times.. Plus I let the brake dust stay on the wheels longer than I should have. Thats was just me being lazy but I've never had this issue before.. Nor after.. lust my 2 cents worth.

I have Wagner thermo quiet and like them. For the first 1000 miles or so they made this odd deep humming sound when coming to a stop (but it could have been from the drilled rotors breaking in). Now they are 100% silent and basically no dust.

Just looking around and got to this post.

After lots of trials and errors over the years I use now Raybestos Police Pads.
Its hard to make them fade or transfer materials to the disc compared to all others I tried.
They are formulated to handle pursuit duty.
A semi metallic pad, yes they dust. I just wash the truck.
No noise either.
Some RV owners report the are fade resistant.

For my 2005 I had to use a Police Tahoe P/N. I called Raybestos to get the part number.

I have cooked many a rotor during those Radar/Laser Detector/Jammer moments bringing her down from speed. These handle it much better. I use R1 Concept Rotors.
