I have a 1996 Tahoe with 3.42 gears and my front end is roaring. i have changed hub bearings and my long tube side bearing and seal and it is still roaring. I am considering changing gear ratio in front and rear if i am going to find a used front diff.

what year models will work to swap front diff and rear diff in maybe 3.73 or 4.11 gear ratio ? is there any chance a rear end with disc brakes will work on my '96 ?
