That's weird. Only thing that comes to mind is the long crank 6.0s, but those were phased out in 2000 I believe. Maybe someone else could chime in on that?

Will the converter fit flat on the OE flexplate or does it bottom out in the crank area before the converter pads hit? Meaning stab just the converter on the flexplate to see where it is hitting - no trans....

You missed a "]" bracket on the first IMG tag, is why the 2nd and 3rd pics dont work.

Converter is interesting, my PI converter was a 3 tab meant for an LS1 flexplate even though it was for an 80e. When did you buy this converter?

Take the flexplate off your 6.0 and take a picture of the crank snout. Take a picture of your flexplate setup before taking it off too. You might need to go ahead with your original plan and get a regular flat 6.0 flexplate without the spacer, which would be a strange combination.

The converter shouldn't be a problem if the mounting lug to bell housing clearance is in spec...

K, just got back from the garage. Had to reinstall spacer into flexplate as I had removed it to try just flexplate. Converter will sit on flexplate properly when just flexplate.

I had to just put some washers between the converter and flexplate to make mine work. it was the only way I could get it to work
