you dont have to drop the y-pipe or any of that. just remove the heat shield that shields the tranny from the cat. no need for all that extra work

Ditto. There was even a groove in the body which allowed removal of the servo assembly in one piece.

Edit: Potential gotcha. Before disassembling everything, measure how far out (or in) the servo cover protrudes from the housing. When you reassemble, be sure the cover is seated to the same distance. Sometimes things don't seat properly the first time, and the cover will LOOK like it is on, and the snap ring will FEEL like it is engaged, but such is not the case. Driving the truck with things in this state can cause the cover to pop off in a cockeyed fashion, breaking the housing and ruining the entire transmission case. When I did mine the assembly just would not seat properly, so I gave up on it for the day. Came back to it the next morning and it popped right in! Go figure...

i have a bone stock 4L60E wantin to put a servo in it but to scared that the crisper shift will hurt the tranny... does it change the rev limit or does the shift from gear to gear improve and become shorter and faster

Don't be skeered! It doesn't change rev limiter. Engines rev, transmissions don't. Put the pedal all the way to the metal and you'll feel the difference as soon as your transmission shifts from 1st to 2nd. There is a discernable SOP difference. No more mushy shifts where you're wondering if your transmission just shifted or not. Just do it.
