i'm doin a 4l80e swap and i'm trying to actually find one. i found one at a local yard that wanted 950 for it then there was the core which was 400 he said so i haggled him and i came down to $1100 walk out. does this sound like a good deal? please respond. i'm on a tight budget and my tranny just started not wanting to shift in to 3rd anymore. first it started off skipping second gear then i showed off in front of a girl and now it won't get out of second. thanks for any help

I got a guy who quoted me $950 for a rebuilt one, but he is super cheep
I bought a rebuilt 4l60e for the 94 LT1 Camaro I had for $525 and I beat the snot out of that car before I sold it and didn't have any problems, so I would trust him.
Those prices are with no cores either.

I paid $650 for an as-is complete unit. It turned out to need a direct drum, but a complete roller-clutch upgrade and rebuild was planned for it anyway. I probably dropped another $900 into it. Awesome transmission. Upgrading to a 4L80-E completely removes the transmission from your thoughts the instant before mashing the throttle.

ya i can't wait. but the problem is, i have to. i ordered some parts from speed eng. and it's taking longer than i thought... then i ordered from gmpartsdirect and they wont contact me or tell me how long it's going to take to get my parts. it's quite annoying when your waiting on that **** to do your project
