I recently purchased a 2001- 4l80e with a 261HD transfer case with 140,000 miles on it. I ripped the trans down to rebuild for my 2wd truck. I have a local guy who wants to buy but I have no idea what these 261HD are going for...... I looked on eBay and they have them for $1000+/- used?!? Is that about right?!?

What do you guys think I should ask for transfer case, extension housing, and output shaft??

If its a good working t case that doesnt make any noise, id say probably 8-900 can get remans for i wanna say $1500..... Then extra on the tailshaft adaptor etc... At least $100 a piece on those..

 

Sadly i am probably going to end up building a 4l80 and all i can find are 2wd....

 

Alright thanks for the info. Are you looking for a 4x4 4l80e right now? Might have a lead for you. Only problem would be shipping....

 

Always looking for one if its the right price, but im gonna kinda need the t case too or at least the input shaft for tcase, currently running 261ld tcase.... But then again im looking for something to build for when my next 60 decides it doesnt like being in one piece anymore....

 

I understand. my 60 is not happy so I turned the boost down so it will stay with me till I finish building my 80e. if this deal falls thru, I'll let you know. We should be able to work something out........

What is your definition of the right price? There is a shop in Maine that sells take out 4L80Es. I can't remember what they ask maybe 800ish
