u-bolts

Default u-bolts

can any one tewll me the torque specs for the u-bolts for the rear springs by the way my truck is a 2000 silverado 4wd also i need the specs for the 2wd if there is a diffrence. thanks

as tight as your 1/2" impact will make them.

:agree: with IMD

mabye more with a breaker bar if you have a crappy impact

I don't know about a breaker bar, but I usually use a long handle 1/2" ratchet and tighten the snot out of the u-bolts.

Are you removing the blocks from the rear and using 2wd u bolts?

------From the GM service manual------


# Install the washers and the nuts to the U-bolts.
Tighten

* Tighten the nuts (w/ attached washer) to 72 N·m (53 lb ft).
* Tighten the nuts (w/o attached washer) to 137 N·m (101 lb ft).
