Default Twisted output shaft!

Well last Sunday I was leaving a friends house and I pull out the driveway and I get on it a little, like just to get moving and then Boom I lost all forward gears. I had to reverse it for about a mile. I was about 40 miles from home and thank goodness I have friends that tow so I got it towed back to the house for 65 bucks, great deal considering the distance. Monday I had called the trans shop and they came and picked it up from my house.

Got the call from the trans shop Tuesday and he told me that the output shaft had snapped and he wanted me to have a billet one installed so he called around to a few different places and he told me that we should go with a TCS. So he even sold me the shaft at his price which was cool of him to do. It was two day UPS to his shop and should be at his shop tomorrow. Just in case anyone is counting on my Transmissions this is number 8! I am and will not talk bad about the builder. It does suck that it keeps going into the shop but not all 8 have been from the same place. He also told me that he has never seen a shaft do that in a gas truck, he has seen them do that on diesel trucks. Here are the pictures of the shaft.

I've seen that multiple times on this forum, seems that billet is the only way to go if you're pushing any modicum of power through a 60/65E. After 8 transmissions I'd say that it's time for an 80E, although I see that your sig states that your truck is for sale, so I doubt that you want to dump the coin on the swap at this venture

If I remember right, about a 3/16'' or 1/4" bigger and on at least on the 4x4, it only about 5" long where the 60e is much longer.
The weakest mechanical link in the 80e I believe is the input and intermediate shafts buts those usually they only break if your locking the converter and then shifting gears. Keep it unlocked until 3rd and they will hold a lot more.

The difference in the yokes was enough to make my eyeballs pop out.

Seriously, the 4l60e is a joke in a truck of the OP's size.
