Here's how I would rank the gears I've had 1 through 7. One being the best.

1) 3.42's
2) 3.23's
3) 3.73's
4)
5)
6)
7) 4.10's

Per Nitto, the 305's need to be on a 10-12inch rim.

I however also run them on a 9.5" as I was told the Foose rims are 10", but their 9.5. You need the wider rim to get full use of the tread, but like I said I run around 20-22 daily, 18psi at the track. My friend has them on a 11inch rim and they fit a lot better.

Rims measured actual 9.5 so if they are working for you I should be ok. Don't think it's worth widening for street tire that's not going to fix traction 100% anyways.

I had 4.56's with the T56, and they were terible in 1st gear. I got out of the hole but it was off of gearing alone, and I didn't get full boost until 2nd gear. Once I did though they felt great.

I switched back to an auto and didn't change the gears right away. But it was a little bit better. 2nd was faster than 1st. I then changed to 3.08's and there's been no looking back. Granted everything in front of the trans has changed quite a bit, but new setup aside, I was much faster with the 3.08's than anything else. IBoost was right there when I needed it.

I don't think you can go wrong with anything from a 2.90-3.55. A lot of it depends on weight, tire height and trans gearing too. I've seen turbo f-bodys with 2.75's that claim they picked up speed and lowered their ET vs. 3.XX gears. It's been proven the GN's slow down when they go from stock 3.42's to something lower.

Thanks guys i guess im in the ballpark area 3.42's seem to be a common number with alot of boosted applications, im buying some 15x12 welds and already have some MT drag radials to put on there, i belive they will be 12" wide or more on this rim so i should have plenty of contact to the pavement..... Im also debating on putting more money in this 8.5 i got, may just keep it, narrow it, and put some strange axes with c-clip eliminators on it....

My friend is running a 60E trans and 4.56 gear with 305/35/24 tires and heavy *** rims with his 5.3L 76mm turbo set up. Truck feels pretty good.

finally drove mine with the 3.73 and it pulls pretty violently , although i have not tried them with the 305/45/18 drag radials (28.8 diameter)

i did run them with the 305/40/22 31.x tire and it still pulls great on the highway and from a dig

maybe that's why the turbo guys get such good mileage...they're running 3.42's and 3.23's
