Default TT3000 giving up the ghost?

With the large number of you having Yank TT3000's, have any of you had problems with the lockup clutch/mechanism in them? Mine seems to be going out. I sent it back to Yank in Dec 03 to have it looked over after grenading Tranny #2. Every since I got it back, every once and a while it would not lock up when it was supposed to but I just played it off as a sticky tcc valve or something. Well a few weeks ago I started to notice a clunk/clatter comming from underneth the truck while idling so I put it up on the ramps to check it out. The sound is distinctly comming from the converter. I dropped the starter and checked the bolts. Two of the three were ~1/4 turn loose. Since tighening those it has only gotten worse, louder and more frequent. I went to atlanta this weekend and on the way up, towards the end of the trip, cruising at a constant speed on the interstate it would just unlock and eventually lock back up after letting off the trottle a little. Once it started doing this, the tranny temp rose to ~190 and the frequency of the unlocking increased. The truck was running great and there were no blinking SES so I dont believe it was unlocking due missfires. It only did it a time or two on the way home but once I would get off the interstate and come to a stop, it would surge like the clutch wasnt completely unlocked. Any way, enough of my rambling. I guess I will just have to give Mike @ Yank a call and see what he has to say about it.

The fact they only warranty the Truck Thrusters for 90 days now tells me they must have been getting more than few of them back. Good luck with your problem.

I have NOT seen a clutch fail or go bad in the trt3000 converter in ouer 2 1/5 years so I would check your tuning and if you had the bolts come loose ( are you using the correct bolts as too long they will bent the clutch surface and destroy the converter this is a common issue) the flexplate can have worn holes and the converter will not run true and cause noise that the PCM might think is spark rattle.
We can not warrenty parts longer than 90 day's that we do not make, but buy from GM suppliers as there is no warrenty to us.
that is the same with other converter Co.s also
When you buy Our billet converters they are Extra tough and we stand behind them for 2 years !
Call us if you need help with this

Do you sell any truck converters (with TT2600, TT3000 internals) with billet components so they can get a better warranty?

Thanks for the responce Yank. I am using the OEM bolts from the factory converter so I am assuming they are the correct length. I plan on removing the tranny/converter soon to inspect the flexplate more closely. If I dont see anything out of the ordinary there, I will be sending the converter back to you guys to cut it open and see what you can find.
