Default TS504 for rear shock relocation?

Since the truck will be getting the rear end done again I'm gonna go ahead and finish up the rear suspension. Already has assassin bars and center leaf removed. Gonna go ahead and do the rear shock relocation. Just measured and ride height for the shock will be right around 14"
The TS504 has a compressed measurement of 11" and extended of 16.3" will this be enoug movement? I'm assuming I can adjust the proper stiffness with the clicks so that won't matter. Or am I wrong there??
It cut 1.72 60' on motor and 3.23s hoping with the right rear setup, 4.10 and leave on the bottle to get low 1.6s maybe even a high 1.5

No

Measure rear suspension with no shocks as follows
Ride height
Fully compressed
Fully extended with wheels off ground

Those are your numbers then add .5" to compressed and extended

Example my truck is around 5" *** drop, my rear shocks are 24" long

However i have adjustment in my lower shock mounts and i tucked my shock bar up near bed floor

This is how AFCO and others told me how to measure

Example my front shocks are little over 18" and i have 3" of drop roughly

How do you get the fully compressed height? Unhook the leafs?

Ahhhh, gotcha. Thanks for the tips guys. Gonna go ahead and pull the bed and shocks and get all the measurements. Can you call AFCO or QA1 and give them the dimensions and them build a shock for your application?

I called afco and told them my numbers and we came up with the shocks i have now

Also with a caltrac or similar suspension setup its not about compressed its more along lines of extension...as a proper caltrac setup will seperate the rear from body..

This is why they tell ya keep say 2" of compression left and rest for extension

Now if using say a long bar setup or even ladder/ 4 link your setup would be different

With my assassin bars, it definitely lifts the frame from the axle. The truck doesn't have much compression before it hits the bump stops anyways.

Ya my truck has maybe 3 fingers for compression and for extension i have around 6" of extension which is important

Also have to make sure everything is loose and non binding

My bolts are greased and snugged then backed off a click...i then double nutted or tacked the nut to bolt so wouldnt back off

With shocks off i have so much movement as required

Remember the front is just as important if not more important as front

My fronts are all poly bushings heavily greased and snugged. With no shocks and my high energy springs i have 8" of body seperation and it moves extremely easy.

Never do you want your shocks to top out in middle of launch..all that will do is unsettle it cause vehicle to loose traction

If you hook then say 20' out blow tires off this is a sign of topping out

Now if youre packing hige amounts of power then it could be power management or track isnt there but with a good setup once it hooks well apply the coals to it and it will hook even harder

Saw same suspension settings go from 1.3s to 1.2s with only change was hitting it harder

Well I tackled the front 1st so I'm hoping it's all well. When jacking the truck up, it lifts approx 8" before it tops out so I should be good there. I have 2" drop springs and used factory length shocks to achieve this. Although I think with my low power level (525 ish RWHP) I will probably be good with what it is now but I am trying to prepare for the future. Do it right do it once.

I wouldn't have thought anything about making sure there is no binding in the back though! I appreciate all the info and tips!!
