Default Transmission went out.. What next?

Well i knew it was going to happen sooner or later, but it happened sooner than i had hoped for. My dad used my truck yesterday to haul some wood back home for our new fence. I hop in my truck this morning to go to work and i feel the tranny slipping, but i was like oh well i will limp it to work. Well that wasnt the case as it would not shift into overdrive so i turned around and brought it back home. Do you guys think that my dad hauling wood in the back of it with my converter caused it to go out or was it just time? Now for the good stuff.. my dad wants a local guy to rebuild it, but i was thinking about seeing if he would bite the bullet and go ahead and order a flp level 4 as i plan on one day making decent power. The guy rebuilt my brothers tranny and it seems to be holding up well.. Any advice you guys have would be appreciated!!

Try teamtripp.com. Bernard really knows his stuff when it comes to trannies. He builds them for the Impalla SS guys. The Impallas weigh aprox. the same as the trucks. He is in Savanah, Ga. which is only a couple of hours from you. The trannies are warranteed for a year with unlimited mileage. His prices are reasonably too. Just another option for you.

Thanks for the help.. I didnt really describe what it is doing.. heck it could be a bad converter for all i know.. but here it goes.. 1-2 shift is smooth but after that the i can hit the gas and the truck will turn 4k and not move any i have to let off and then it will shift.. It did the same thing from 2-3 when i was getting on the interstate and it would not shift to overdrive at all.. i was running 60 at 4k... What do you guys think?

Too bad you aren't up in the NW. Ellis Groo (Speed Secrets) just did mine yesterday.

Damn. I think I would have switched after the 2nd one. I hope the same people did not build all of them.
