Transmission help please
#1
Yesterday I got my truck tuned by Ed wright. He did a really good job and truck runs awesome. I got home and took a buddy for a ride and got on it kind of hard but only ran it up to about 50. Then when I got home to take my girlfriend for a ride when we took off the transmission revved real high in first and took a while to shift and has done it ever since. I didn't know if this was something I could fix for cheap or should I go ahead and get a built tranny. I would like to stay with the 4l60e because I just bought a yank converter for 500 bucks and only has 200 miles on it and would like to keep using that converter. If I rebuild it or got a built one is there a company that anyone has had good luck with. Mods are cam, headers, 3000 stall, pushrods, springs, and a couple other small things. Any advice would help, I don't want to switch to a 4l80 however. I would also like to run some boost through this truck sometime an would like to go ahead and get a tranny that will hold about 10 pounds. This is my daily driver. Thanks ahead of time for the advice

Sucks to hear you lost the transmission like that. Sorry to hear it.
How many miles are on it currently? Any modifications to it as it sits?
Also, knowing that you are looking to go boosted down the road, it's going to take a very nice build in order to handle that sort of power to weight. Just keep in mind that there are a few shops out there with great reputations, take your time and ask around here. Look around the web. Take your time and you'll find the right company for the job.
In my opinion, you'll want to see it get a nice billet input shaft, sleeved input drum, a custom over running clutch piston, billet pump rotor, 5 pin planets and a nice output shaft. The key to making these live in combinations like yours long term is working with someone who understands the hydraulic fluid paths and can manage the shift timing well.

Today I ordered a transmission from finish line transmissions. I have done some research and they seem like a good company. I went ahead and did the level four so hopefully I wont ever have to mess with it again. Mods are cam, headers, 3000 stall, pushrods, springs, CAI, and an ed wright tune. Nothing too extreme im just trying to build a fast and fun daily driver. Have any of you guys ever had any experience with finish line?
