Transmission HELP
#1
First off, I tried SEARCH. There are so many topics with trannys it's overwhelming. Hopefully someone can help.
My truck is bone stock, 106K miles. I drive it like an old man. I dont take off fast, WOT or anything like that. Literally, like an old man!
Today I was driving down the highway and after about 15minutes and several stop lights later I was stopped again at a red. The light turned and I proceeded to take off like normal and the RPM's went up to around 1500 or so like I was in nuetral. The truck then lurched forward and drove like normal. This was not a violent thing (others in the vehicle didnt notice). This didnt happen again for the rest of the day.
Later on when the truck was in 4th with the TC locked I could feel a slight vibration at certain times with a little throttle. Again this was not noticed y anyone else, it was very slight.
I got home and checked the fluid. The vehicle had just been driven and was at operating temp. The fluid was full and looked new, red, no dark tinge. I have put 10k miles on this truck since I got it and havnet done a thing with the tranny.
Could this be a sign of a serious tranny problem or could it be the torque converter? Compared to our experiences what do you think? Again I dont drive as spirited as alot of the people on here talk about.

Husker few things come to mind. Either you are getting ready to have an input sprag failure, forward clutch failure, cracked 1-2 accumulator piston or you have a partially cracked forward accumulator piston. The forward and 1-2 accumulator could be easily checked and if it is plastic they are known to crack. The forward one would be more like a neutral feeling and the 1-2 would start out in second gear for a split second and then go back to first depending on how bad it was damaged if this were the case. The other two I have listed would require a tear down of the transmission in order to be fixed. Vince
