Default Transfer case weight?

I am pulling my trans this weekend and I am wondering how heavy the transfer case is on a 2001 Chevy 1500. I have a trans jack so it shouldn't be a problem but I am wondering if I need someone to help me. Thanks

I'm a little guy and I was able to remove it without any jacks.... I'd say 60-70 pounds?

Are you pulling the transfercase with the trans?

I had planned on pulling the transfer case off first and then pulling the trans. Isn't that the best way?

Probably the fastest and easiest way.

I've managed to to get the transfer case in and out several times by myself with muscle power. It got scary a couple time. Managed to get a good bruise out of it once.

Yeah it's not that heavy at all, the top bolt can be a PITA.. I was taking a junk one outta a Denali once (at work on a lift), and spilt it away from the tranny not paying attention, and got showered with ATF... Fricking in my mouth and everyting, pissed me off..

Here is a table with the t-case weights. My NVG 246 is around 85lb dry. Table says 86. http://www.offroad-tech.com/tech/transfercase/

I would want a jack under it if doing it alone. It is awkward to manouver, at least under my truck it is.
