Default Transfer Case/Rear Diff Fluid Change......

Hey guys,

I have a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 (late model) and am getting to the point where the transfer case and rear diff fluids will need a change. I was wondering if anyone is running synthetic? Is it worth it? I plan on keeping this thing for a LONG time.

Also I believe that I have a 10 bolt rear in it w/o a drain plug anywhere so I will have to change the diff cover gasket. When I was searching I noticed a Fel Pro paper type gasket for $13-$20 and then what appeared to be a Fel Pro rubber gasket for over $40. What have you guys used?

Any other tips or advice?

Thanks in advance guys,
Brian

Go synthetic. Use rtv as a gasket.

Last time I did it, the dealer gasket was cheaper then the fel pro and there is no need to wait for a gasket to dry like RTV.

Either way will get the job done so it's your call.

Synthetic is fine.
