Unhappy Transfer Case ADVICE... mine went bye bye!

The Transfer case in my 2000 silverado 1500 4X4 seems to have bought the farm... Never had a problem, change the fluid regularly but it let go with no warning when I wasn't using 4WD, metal filings in the fluid along with a grinding noise if you try to drive it. It has plenty of miles on it and doesn't owe me anything, I just don't want to owe anybody else more than I have to!
So,
What would be best... Rebuild, New or Junkyard Find?
I have the manual lever, no push button...

take it apart and see what ate itself.
Junkyard find might be your best bet if nothing else.

Rebuild it, unless the case is trashed, or you broke a shaft.

I have two...both rebuilds. One is a reman with zero miles, the other is a local rebuild with zero miles on rebuild. PM me if you are interested, I get some pics and pricing together.
