Trans Zinc Seperator Plate
#1
What all is needed to replace the stock sep plate with the zinc hardened unit? I am planning on putting in a corvette servo after the new year and want to put in the thicker plate for a little extra tranny life. Do you have to remove the valve body or what all is required for this?

I dont know on that but I have a guy that could do it for cheap charged me 45 to do the vette servo and supplied the servo. LMK. If no one can tell you Ill call him and ask for you and see what all is entailed in doing it

You will have to remove the valve body, you'll need gaskets for both sides of the plate and a pan gasket. You will also need to replace the 2 small screens that snap into the plate as the ones in the stock plate are almost impossible to remove without breaking. While you are there you should go ahead and do the Transgo install. It won't take much longer, you will just be changing some stuff in the valve body and enlarging some holes in the sep. plate.

Yes, you have to remove the valvebody, which means you might as well do a TransGo install while its out. The Vette sized servo is also another good investment. Installed correctly, these modifications will prolong the life of the transmission.

Well, I really wan't planning on installing a shift kit. This truck isn't going for racing like my previous one, just want a little extra performance.
Cody, find out from your buddy about the sep plate and vette servo.
