I have the larger B&M cooler but when driving aggressively around town i notice the cooler is pretty hot. I dont have gauges yet to know how hot but is it possible that driving around town, mostly under 3000 rpms, is going to cause enough heat even with the cooler to damage?

Tranny fluid really starts to cook around 240*-250*. If I remember correctly, the trans over temp light comes on about 245. With my new 3200 converter, running through my radiator cooler, towing package cooler, and 28,000gvw cooler, mine stay around 150 on the interstate, about 170-180 in town, and about 200 if I play for a little while. It also cools down decently quick too.

Hot to my hand is probably 150-175? and yeah, it does cool down quick. My stock cooler is removed and the B&M is inline. I dont think it is plumbed into the radiator?
Also i am running redline synthetic but am thinking of going back to dino. How often do you change your filter and fluid?

If mine gets hot I go ahead and change it. The more the better. I know of a guy that changes his every oil change. Cant remember if its every 3k, or 5k. Thats overkill to me though.
