Trans shifts very late! PLEASE HELP

Default Trans shifts very late! PLEASE HELP

Ok i need some help my 01 yukon has a 4l60e which is 9 months old has a very late shift out of first gear (about 4k on the tach) orginally the guy i got the trans from said it was the shift solenoid so i replaced BOTH in the trans but the problem is still there...... so today i had a friend put his scanner on it an it came up with solenoid A stuck open???????????? i have no idea why this would be.... it not a stored code it is current PLease help thanks , TOM

The solenoid being stuck open really does not make any sense. Reason being is the "A" solenoid is closed in first gear and needs to open in order to make the 1-2 shift. I would think if you have an open A solenoid then you would not have 1st or 4th gears. I would look with a scan tool to see when that solenoid is commanded to turn off in relation to when your 1-2 shift happens. Keep in mind that the computer is telling the trans what to do here. If the command is not there to around 4k then that is when the trans is going to shift.

ok thanks one shop that looked at it told me i need a computer and that would take care of the problem????? i dont know if i believe it thou
