Default Tranny upgrade?

I have a 2004 sierra 5.3 ext cam z71. the truck is ran in 2wd "pulled the front shaft out" my question is should i buy a new tranny thats already built vs having mine built? the truck is bolted right now with 3;73 gears thinking of doing 4:10 gears, 220/220 cam and prob a 2800 stall, also my do a head swap " PRC 220cc 5.3L Stage 2.5 CNC Ported Heads" but thats a big maybe on the heads... im not sure how much " tranny" i will need to be able to safely run it as a DD truck. any info or help would be appreciated thanks guys...

Run it until it breaks, but it will break. Just a matter of time. Start saving the pennies. How much trans you want depends on what you can afford. Buy the best you can.

As Country Boy said, it will break. I however I say to sell it now before it is bad. People want good 60e's all the time. Then put that money towards a built one.

Either Performabuilt level or or FLT level 3 4 or above. I do have a hook up that will build a damn good trans for a damn good price and is pretty well known. I would do the latter.
