Question tranny toast...

Going to dealer on Monday to see if they will warranty it with the blower on it.

If not, need plan B.

What about a 4l65e swap.
is this possible- direct swap?
I beleive they are same size and will bolt up.
what about about shaft size?
what about stall speed?
Do I have to retune

any suggestions for plan B welcome

Don't waste your time on a 65E swap.To answer your question though they are the exact same tranny just a couple upgraded parts internally but nothing great.
They won't warrenty it with a blower on there. That i can almost promise you.
I would recommend you get a full build on the bad 60E. Maybe look into FLT trannys there a vendor here on the board.Other than a built unit it will never last with a blower on there.

cool, i checked flt website,
level 4 is build 60e
level 5 is built 65e
about $800 different in price.
if i bought a flt level 5, do i need a tune, that is hard for me because of where i live, no dyno turners here and i don't want a mail order tune, i'll get hptuners when funds permit.

No, you won't need a tune. The shift kits are designed to work with stock tranny settings in the tune.

Nope. The only difference is that some of the hard parts inside are upgraded. The electronics are identical on the 60/65/70E.

here's hoping, the service manager is a good friend and I've helped him out with his race cars over the years, if he can get away with it he will do it, depends on who else is around, as in gm reps etc.

one more question, should I take the radix tune out before I take it in there in case they re-flash. Is it safe for them to do a test drive on the stock tune if need be?
