It was likely just a faulty new part or an old one that checked out good when he tore it apart and inspected the trans, then failed. Not that big of a deal.

Dont have any major power adders. Just a tune and some bolt ons. Was rebuilt with 5 gear planetary and hardened sunshell and transgo hd2.

Still no word...probably busy like me on a monday..

Default Holy ****!

WOW! Just got back from the tranny shop. Forward sprag completely flipped over and to put it lightly...completely fucked up. Bent all to hell. Cracked Output Shaft.. Clutches are fine and fuid was perfect. A couple other pieces were tweaked as well and the good news is he is gonna fix it under warranty...even though he says it is clearly abuse.

My suspicions lead to programming and im not sure what to make of it.
All i did was step on it from a 35+- Roll. It revved up and as he says "neautralized" and the rest is history.

Any thoughts so i can prevent this from happening again. I cannot afford this to happen again and i know for a fact there was no abuse. I feel bad as it is since i know he is taking a loss on this...and he said anyone else would be SOL.

Thanks Guys!

First, don't feel bad. An honored warrantee is just good advertising.
Second, if it was what you say it was, just an accelleration to pass, and thats it, then he's blowing smoke up your ***, telling you its "clearly abuse". But thats neither here, nor there.

I don't really know much about trannys, but I imagine that putting the torque managment back in wouldn't hurt.

I would ask him what type of sprag he is using? SKF or Borg Warner? The Borg is better sprag in my opinion. Vince

Thanks Vince...i wish i could get a picture of how badly this thing was bent up. He said it was only the second output shaft he has seen like this. Bent and a 2 inch crack.

Has to be something in the program when downshifting all the way to 1st.
