tranny issues
#1
Here we go. I got a 04 Sierrra VHO with a 4L65E, 3.73's. I haven't had time to really pay attention to it yet. I will tommorrow. But when I got close to home I noticed that from either 1-2 or 2-3 the trans is shifting weak. It feels as if its not engaging strongly. It feels as if its slipping for awhile then it finally grabs. Do you guys know anything about this. Will the shift kit I'm going to install help this. I wanted to take it to the dealer since its still under warranty and as soon as I go into the trans the warranty is shot. So if its a problem that the shift kit wont fix then I will take it to the dealer first.

Make sure the fkuid level is topped off, then take it into the dealership. If there is a problem, get it fixed before the warranty is up. It would be cool to get a new trans out of the deal.
If you do end up needing a new trans, tell them to install a torque converter out of a Trailblazed with the 4.2L Inline 6 cylinder and a trans out of a 2006 VHO, 2wd SS or a Vortec Maxx 2wd truck, these trucks use the 4l70e, it will be a drop in replacement for the 4l65e you have now.

I went to the dealer and they topped off the tranny. But this is the second time I had to top off the trans. The guys in the shop said that they come from the factory low on transmission fluid. It still feels weak from 2-3 and 3-4. Ill go back tomorrow and see what they say. I just wonder how much damage was done with the fluid being low.
