Default Which tranny cooler....

Hey guys I need your help. Im about to order a tranny cooler. The 4l60 is getting fully built next week (putting around $800 of stuff in it...hope it lasts ) along with a 3400 PI stall. I'll be installing a TNT wet kit also sometime next week. I'll be spraying only a 100 shot. My truck is my weekend toy , but sometimes I use it for cruising at nights and driving to Mexico.

I've been searching and have read good reviews from the B&M 70264 cooler (6x11x1.5) 24,000 GVW. Heard it lowers the trans temp around 30* and can't beat the price too. But will this be cool enough for my setup?

Ther is also this one...http://www.bulkpart.com/Merchant2/me...t_Code=OC-1405 but Im leaning more to the B&M becuase of the reviews.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Yep. How hard was it to install? Heard the B&M doesn't come with enough hose.

The B&M isn't near enough IMO. I run two coolers with my 3500 Stall. The B&M and the 2nd to largest Perma Ultra cool. Get two! Also, no tranny cooler kit comes with enough hose. You'll have to make a trip to autozone for that one.

I had enough hose... it really isnt that difficult. A good tip: Dont put any pointy screws through the a/c condenser to mount the cooler. lol they had screws with mine to mount it and they were pointy... the last one caught one of the lines in the condenser and no more a/c use those zip clips things that come with it... they support it surprisingly well

also, all you have to do is just figure out which tranny line is going to the tranny and which is going to the cooler, there really isnt an in and an out on the cooler but i just found it would be easier if the freshly cooled fluid didnt have to travel as far, but i dont think it really matters.

Ive got a B&M 70264 and it came with everything I needed to install it. IMO more is needed than just the cooler with a stall. A good deep cooling pan is a must. Im still not a fan of tube/fin coolers.

Had plenty of hose for my install and only had to run one of mine, even towing a 6000# trailer with a 3000 stall but hen agian my cooler is quite a bit bigger than the coolers you are talking abotu and a bit more expensive.

heres the link incase ytou decide to go my route

My transmissions temps hav enver gotten over 185* in 100* temps towing trailers well worth it IMO and comes with plenty of hose and connectors.
