Default Tranny acted weird,???

I have a 05 z71 crew cab, not sure which auto tranny I have.

I was stopped at a stop sign and when I went to take off, it just sat there. Kinda revved a little and then went. Almost like it was in neutral. This has happened 3 times now in the last 16 months. Cant remember for sure but most of the time its after it has sat for a while, like overnight. The truck only has 14k miles on it. I cant take it to the dealer bc it doesnt do it all the time, never know when it ll do it, and there are no SES lights. Am I being paranoid or is this a sign that ll it s going to go out in the future?

I dont race it at all, dont spin the tires, etc etc. I do tow 3-4 atvs from time to time but I m well under the towing capacity there.

my truck has not downshifted before when i coame to a stop. when i took off, i was like WTF it felt like it was slipping real bad, then downshifted into second and went on. mine had no lights either. it has done that 3-4 times over the past year with no problems yet. tranny does not slip or act up besides those couple of times.

I read a post where someone was having a similar issue.......what he found was that his trans wasn't going back to 1st gear when coming to a stop. Like you it would only do it every now and then. When he would go to take off it would rev a bit then get back down into 1st and take off. He had it looked at by 2 different trans shops and they couldn't find anything wrong with the trans.

I'm another owner of that same problem! It will still be in high gear 2nd or 3rd when I go to take back off. Mine has done it about 4-5 times in the past year. I think it has to do with the idle being set so low.
When I had my Nelson tune, the idle was bumped up to 600-650. I never experienced that problem with his tune in.
I think it's just one of those things that you will just have to live with.
My previous 2000 5.3L Silverado did the same thing.
Surprised there isn't a TSB on it. Then again, there may be.

PCM 4l60e transmissoins are a piece of **** plain and simple. They will shift inconsistantly either hard or soft, take of in second if they want to and blow up when you least expect it to.I had plenty of turbo 350 and 400 that always shift exactly the same with none of this stupid **** that the 60e does.CASE CLOSED.
