Your going to 100% hate towing with a cam that big and you would need to have atleast a 3400+ stall converter..
I tow 6k+ on circle-d's 278mm converter that was stalled at 2400-2600.With load behind it it will flash to 3000 easy if i really get on it.Circle-d does have a few options for the 80e as well but with 9k id go as low of a stall speed as you can..
Id go with a smaller cam and either mill the 317 heads you have now or get a set of 243/799 heads..

I agree with Andrew, a 224 cam is going want a fairly large stall. And a fairly large stall is not going to tow very good. How often will you tow 9K? What type of cooler do you have?

I rarely tow 9000 usually it's like 4000 to 5000and I'm going to be putting a trucool 40k on it when I do the swap
So would a 220/220 be better and I was planning on getting the 317's milled .030

A 224@.050 isn't that big in a 6.0. My 9.5" vigilante in my 06 crew cab stalls about 2700 and I have had my 18' car hauler with my 71 Camaro on it behind my truck. The only time you really notice it is if you get stuck or you need to ease back, getting on the throttle with the stall makes it kinda jumpy.
