Yank 2600 especially since the price is lower than it used to be. Also If I'm not mistaken the TB Converter STR is 1.9 where the Yank 2600 STR is 2.1. The 2800 Vigalante Converter is also a good choice but they are expensive when compared to the TB Converter or the Yank 2600.

My Yank 2600 is sitting in my closet and I'm just waiting to get my headers and ORY-Pipe to install the converter and headers at the same time.

what about unloading aboat at a steep boat ramp, will this be a problem with a 2600 stall, even with my 4x4?

It shouldn't be a problem. Friend of mine has a TCI 3000 Converter in a 94 model pickup with a 383 has 3.42 gears and 28 tall tires. He launches his jet boat with no problems.

I tow a tractor with mine and temps never get above 175.I have no problems at the boat launch either.
