Default Torque Converter Help

Hi guys!

I'm looking for a little help on picking a torque converter for my truck, build specs are as follows..

lQ4 6.0
243 heads with pac 1219 springs
Flat top pistons
TBSS Intake and injectors 92mm throttle body
CAI
Long tube headers (speed engineering)
texas speed 228R 112 LSA
4L60E
33in tires on Weld Racing Cheyenne's

This engine was in my old 2500HD, cracked a piston and did a complete rebuild, new bearings, balanced rotating assembly, ARP main studs etc. I removed the engine and sold the truck, now putting it in my current truck. I had a 2800 stall in the old truck with the 4L80e.

Current Truck is a 2000 Silverado 1500 4x4 with factory 4.10 gears and factory trans cooler. I'm thinking of either a 3200 stall or 3400, not set on a company yet, probably Yank or Circle D. I tow very rarely with the truck and if I do its either a small boat or a couple jet skis. It is a weekend driver, with occasional trips to work or up north. Looking for something that is fun on the street, doesnt need to drive like stock.

I appreciated your opinions and thoughts!

252 or 258mm 3000-3200 stall
the 252 or 258 will move the bigger truck around better than a 245 will

if the budget allows, I always like to see truck guys with a triple disc but as long as you don't lock WOT or try to tow anything heavy with it locked, a single would likely be just fine

I would second that. You will want to be in the 3200 range with that combo. Best to talk with the manufacture about your needs and goals so they can taylor the convertor for you. The bigest issue is cores right now. Every one has a lead time because of the parts shortage.

You will likely want to upgrade the factory trans cooler though with the new convertor.

Love my Circle D 258 3200 but I do regret not spending the extra cash for a triple disc.
