Th400 2wd to np246? (Z71 Tahoe LS6)

Th400 2wd to np246? (Z71 Tahoe LS6)
I am posting this here because pt.net gets mad respect on the hardcore forums for the LS trucks.
I need to convert my 2wd th400 to 4x4 and place it where a4l60e 4x4 was, in between the LS6 and the np246.
My 2wd TH400 HD (TH475) is a fresh build:
Straight cut gears, comp. braking vb, all thr factory severe duty parts for the only th400 GM made for severe diesel duty vans, buses, dump trucks and even the Deuce and a half.
Whats the simplest way to run a np246 in this body style? Just run an np205 conversion with the 246 and swap out the th400 2wd shaft for the 4wd piece?
