TCC Problems and Questions

Yeah I know that, but the only one I have is P1870. Which makes me think its not the TCC noid or the PWM noid or any of the wiring. The fluid looks good too, so I doubt the TCC is smoked.

there is a feature in the hpt scanner under tools that will allow you to command the tcc to lock. Id test it. I had a similar problem and it was a misfire code even though it wasnt setting the se light might think about changing the low and mid misfire tables if youve got a cam just to elimnate the possibility.

Really? I did a search at ls1tech and pretty much every case of this had an SES light. It could be my nosiy *** leaky EGR valve freakin' things out. I'll fix the EGR tonight and see if it helps. Yes, I have a cam, but I've NEVER had this problem before. And the cam and stall have been on for almost a year and a half.

When you running along just open up the scanner I thing its under tools- vcm control and the tranny tab-its an enable button command the converter to lock if it does and stays locked you know there is nothing wrong with it and to look else where. Also you can log input and output speeds and converter slip should be next to nothing when in third gear.
