Default TBSS 9.5 rear end rebuild

2007 TBSS 14bolt 9.5 rear end. Very noisey, Im replacing the pinion bearings and carrier bearings. All parts installed and i cannot get a backlash. I reused the pinion shim and carrier shim. All the parts are correct and the races are seated properly. I have reinstalled everything 4 fours, still no backlash and we I torque the carrier bolts, the diff becomes difficult to turn.

Thanks in advance!

I am hoping you got this fixed already.

If not, it sounds like you need to adjust the side clearance.

Not all bearings are manufactured the same and you may need to offset the carrier with some thicker shims.

Did you install the carrier bearing shims on the wrong sides? They're usually different thicknesses.
