If i had easy access to a LT1 T56. What would have to be done to get it into my Sierra?

 

why? If you honestly plan to leave the 4.3L why don't you just get a 5 speed out of a 4.3L manual

 

if his truck is already a 5spd, it would be an easy swap... it would even be fun, going to a 6spd, even with a 4.3 IMO... not everyone wants to have the fastest truck in the 1/4... some ppl just like to have something a little more fun to drive ...

 

How much different is the gearing in the t-56 compared to the 5speed(not sure of it's model number)?

You'll have to forgive me but unless the gearing is totally different I don't see the need to swap from a 5 speed to 6 speed with just a 4.3L

 

I'm not saying I'd do it either... but if he's got easy acess to it, and its already a manual truck then I'd say why not... especially if he's planning on a motor swap later on... he'll be one step ahead. and one step farther than most of us would like to be LOL... I know a ton of guys want 6spds...
