Hey guys,
I am entertaining the idea of doing t56 (comaro/firebird/corvette) style tranny swap in my 96 tahoe. I was wondering if anybody had any input as to what kind of computer tuning would have to happen, and if i would need a new computer. I'm also concerned about the speedometer factor. If anybody has an info concerning anything about it, that would be that cat's ***.

You could probably get a LT1 style t-56 and maybe the computer out of a 5 speed truck and make it work. Most folks on here are more gen 3 oriented IMHO.You could also try Ls1-trucks and ask this question.

 

yea dood, im guessing any t-56 from 1994?? and till 1997??? would work, as long as it was bolted up to the LT-1

 

LT1 tranny for sure and as far as the details, you'd be the first I knew of to try it in that body style but I wouldn't for see many big issues.
