T - Case Adapter 4L65/70e to 4L80e Swap
#1
I'm doing a 4L80e swap on my 2007 Suburban (NNBS).
I've ordered everything below.

I've been told I dont need a transfer case adapter, so I didnt order one.
Below is the 4L80e I'm looking to buy. (Doest look like it has a facotry adapter)

Can I use the factory adapater I have now? Or do I need the factory 80e adapter? (I'm changing the input shaft on the T-case to 32 spline, not the output shaft on the 80e)

Pretty sure you need the factory 80e adapter. Its steel instead of magnesium. The rear bolt patterns between the 80e and 60e are different, however, the input bolt pattern on the tcase is the same.

Ok. So I'll need either the factory 80e adapter, or the custom one from PATC. I leaning toward the PATC one since that's who I got the cross member from. Although thinking about it....prob not any difference in the thickness?
Then again, It is likely designed to work with their output shaft and I dont know if the length of that is any different. Just trying to make sure the cross member and input shaft isnt going to be a problem...

Also, are you referring to 4 bolt vs 6 bolt? Looks like some newer 60's have 6 bolts. If there are 6 can I assume they are the same, or is there some change in distance between the bolt holes?

I would just get a factory one and find a guy that can weld you on a bracket to your crossmember...$360 is way too much for that. I think Tyler (dirttrackracer) might make a tubular one for your truck.
6bolt one. I was pretty sure the bolt patterns on the rear of the transmissions are different.

In a tough spot right now though, cant get anywhere and need truck back on the road. If there is a bolt and go option right now, I'm taking it.

Anyone know where to get a plug for the ISS sensor holes? The trans I got is missing the back one and the bracket. Dont need it cause it's 4x4 and just want to put a plug like they do from the factory. Cant find the part # anywhere..

You can just use another sensor just dont hook it up. Amazon.com: ACDelco 24203876 GM Original Equipment Automatic Transmission Input and Output Speed Sensor with Seal: Automotive
and are you the same atomic on hptuners forums? If so, nice find on the TCC slip being a calculated error!
