Get a truck master and the slaves are the same between the trucks and cars. Get this nifty little deal right here, Russell PN 640281, it's AN adapters for the GM clutch lines so you can run braided -3 hose and fittings. Also so you can utilize this conversion kit to make use of the stock truck shifting location T56 Front Shift Conversion Kit | Shifters, Handles & Boots | GM Parts and Accessories | GM | Keisler Engineering, Inc | Keisler Engineering - KeislerAuto.com You can use a 03-04 Cobra short throw you just have to mod one of the bolt holes a little to make it work I believe instead of using the shifter that comes with the conversion kit. Since you have an auto, your driveshaft will work since the T56 and 4L60E are the same length. You'll have to get some stuff turned off in the tune on your truck so it won't throw a light trying to find the transmission too, it's pretty simple, I've looked at it on my HPT but don't remember offhand what you have to change. Short of a clutch and lines, it's pretty much a basic swap if you really think about it.

I would rather have an Fbody T-56 with its 2.66:1 1st gear and closewr spacing than a wide ratio GTO or SSr.

Just step up to a 4.88 or 5.13 gear. The 60e/65e gearing is horrible, way too much rpm drop during upshifts, the 6l80e and 6l90e are even worse.

I understand wanting to get the truck rolling a bit easier with a lower 1st gear, but just use a bit of extra rear gear.
The T-56 is MUCH stronger thna the 60e/65e/70e in stock form.

5.13's with a 30" tires at 70mph and the 0.50:1 6th gear only revs 2010rpm, still only 2900rpm at 100mph.
5.13 rear gear and 2.66:1 T56 (Fbody) nets a 13.65:1 1st gear final ratio.
Thats equivalent to a 60e trans with 4.56:1 gears (3.06 x 4.56=13.95)
Either example is a very short 1st gear and the T-56 will have much better recovery with its close ratio.

T-56's from Vettes wont work as they are a trans axle design with a driveshaft feeding the trans, you need the trans feeding a drive shaft.

1/4" plate with 2 nuts welded to the back for the firewall mount, still need to make something for the dash mount.

you have to cut the wide brake pedal because the manual pedals are much narrower than the automatic one.
